Terrorist Group Pays for Democrat Congressman's Trip

From the story:

Illinois congressman Danny Davis and an aide took a trip to Sri Lanka last year that was paid for by the Tamil Tigers, a group that the U.S. government has designated as a terrorist organization for its use of suicide bombers and child soldiers, law enforcement sources said.

Are the terrorists getting smarter?

I keep hearing that our terrorist enemies are getting smarter. This story about Arabic speakers learning Spanish and hiring "coyotes" to smuggle them across the border seems to support such a notion. Then again, how smart can they be if they are wearing patches like these on their jackets?

No Austrians at UNR

Went over to the campus bookstore today to buy the required tomes for the new semester. The text for the class on International Trade is written by Dr. Paul Krugman, who also happens to be the much discredited far-left wing columnist for the NY Times.

There is not a single conservative Austrian School economist in the Business School faculty at UNR, that I have met or heard of. I was so looking forward to taking this course for more than a year; I skipped buying the text today, gut-wrenchingly disappointed.

Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant?

Care to discuss the relationship between science and religion?  Pick up the book Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant?: A Professor And a Punk Rocker Discuss Science, Religion, Naturalism & Christianity, co-authored by Preston Jones, associate professor of history at John Brown University, and Greg Graffin, front man of the band Bad Religion, who holds a Ph.D. in zoology.  More information via my blog.

I Knew There Were Psychos in Washington

Misleading headline I know, but it's a break from the usual pieces on here.  From the Drudge Report: Psycho Killer Raccoons Terrorize Washington Town.  I kid you not.  From the story:

Raccoons are cute, until they kill one of your cats. [. . .]
The problem got so bad that residents Kari Hall and Tamara Keeton even started a Raccoon Watch after having an emotional neighborhood meeting attended by about 40 people. "It was a place for people to mourn and cry," Hall said.

Fall YPU Schedule

When members of the Tory Party occupy the position of Vice President in the Yale Political Union (in charge of arranging guest speakers), good things happen.

Definition of Non Sequitur

How do Iraq, Lebanon, and JonBenet Ramsey tie in together? Ask Seth Brigham, of the Rocky Mountain Peace Center, because I sure don't know.

Don't Work Too Hard

Just in time for the beginning of the school year, we have this from the pope: Too much work can be bad for you. Or, in his own words:

We have to guard ourselves, the saint [Bernard of Chiaravalle] observed, from the dangers of excessive activity, regardless of the office one holds, because too many concerns can often lead to hardness of heart.

And there you have it. Have a great start to the year all you collegiate conservatives (and other students as well).

Kerry Crazy....again

Honestly, how does this man take himself seriously? How could anyone else for that matter? In his most recent tantrum, John Kerry has compared Joe Lieberman to Dick Cheney and said that,

...Lieberman is out of step with the people of Connecticut.

Apparently the Senator from Masschussetts hasn't viewed the most recent poll data

KOSmonauts

I'll be surprised if I'm the first one to think of this pun, but I think we should start referring to leftist bloggers as KOSmonauts, as their minds seem to be off in space.
